About Lattika
Lattika is a window manager for macOS built around zones. You design a layout of zones for each display, hold Shift while dragging a window and drop it into a zone; the window moves and resizes to fill it. Layouts come from templates and ready-made presets for laptops, standard, ultrawide and super-ultrawide displays, or are drawn by hand in a grid or canvas editor. Beyond snapping, Lattika remembers which zone every window belongs in, places an app's windows automatically with rules, saves and restores whole workspaces, offers actions to the Shortcuts app, and can sync layouts, rules and workspaces between Macs through iCloud. It is a menu bar app with no Dock icon, no account and no analytics, sold directly as a one-time purchase with a 14-day trial, and signed and notarized with an Apple Developer ID. Lattika requires macOS 15 or later.
In one sentence
Lattika divides your Mac's screen into zones you design and drops windows into them with a Shift-drag or a keystroke.
Features
- Drag to snap. Hold Shift while moving a window to see the zones; drop to snap. Add Control to span several zones at once. The keys can be changed, and the zones can be shown on every drag.
- Layout editor. Grid layouts with split, merge and draggable dividers; canvas layouts with free, overlapping rectangles. Spacing and padding per layout, live preview on a real display.
- Templates and presets. Columns, Rows, Grid, Priority Grid, Focus and Blank templates for 1 to 9 zones; more than 35 named presets grouped by display type and suggested for the displays attached.
- Per-display layouts. Each display keeps its own layout, keyed to its usable size, so a laptop remembers one layout docked and another undocked.
- Keyboard snapping. Control-Option-1 to 9 snap the focused window into a zone; shortcuts move windows between zones and displays, switch layouts, show zones and restore windows. All shortcuts can be changed.
- Window memory. Windows return to their zone when an app opens a new window, relaunches, or a display is reconnected.
- Rules for apps. Send an app's windows to a chosen zone, optionally only when the window title matches a pattern.
- Workspaces. Save where every window is and restore it from the menu, a shortcut or the Shortcuts app; optionally launch missing apps or restore automatically when a set of displays is connected.
- Shortcuts actions. Snap Front Window to Zone, Apply Layout, Restore Workspace, Save Workspace, Restore Windows to Zones, Apply Placement Rules and Show Zones, plus
lattika://URL commands for scripts. - iCloud sync. Optional. Layouts, rules and workspaces stay the same on every Mac signed in to the same iCloud account.
- Private by design. No analytics, no tracking, no account. Everything stays on the Mac or in the user's own iCloud.
